The Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel is a go. It will be a 17 story hotel and will include a 21,063 sqft ground retail space, 320 valet spaces, a parking garage, a sky bridge connecting the meeting space to the convention center, a pool deck with restaurants and fitness rooms, a 5,035-square foot bar and a terrace on the 17th floor.
The hotel rooms will be on levels 6 through 17. There will be a ballroom and meeting rooms on floors 3 and 4. Arquitectonica is the the architectural firm behind the hotel.
Developers David Martin and Jackie Soffer plan to use the coral keystone on the façade of the Henry Hohauser-designed building that will be demolished to give way to the new property. Anticipated delivery is 2022. According to Miami Beach Connect, “the project will create 3,614 jobs during development, 1,909 construction jobs and 724 permanent, full-time jobs with total projected revenue paid to the city totaling $2.6 billion, or $225 million in today’s dollars”.
